This policy covers four separate things, and each section below says which one it is about: the GOAT Cam app for iPhone and iPad, the GOAT Cam companion app for Windows, this website, and our support mailbox.
Who we are
GOAT Cam is an independent software product published by a single developer, who is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Write to support@dagoat.io with any question about it, including a request to delete data we hold about you.
The GOAT Cam apps send us nothing
Neither the iPhone and iPad app nor the Windows companion app has an account to create or sign in to. Neither one contains analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting, and neither one contacts a server of ours, because we operate none. We therefore hold no usage records, no device identifiers and no profiles. The Windows companion app keeps its diagnostic logs, and any recordings or snapshots you make, on your PC only.
Your video
The iPhone and iPad app sends live camera video in real time directly to your own Windows PC, over a USB cable or across your local Wi-Fi network. The iPhone and iPad app does not record it. The Windows companion app saves a recording (an MP4 file) or a snapshot only when you press Record or Snapshot (Ctrl+R / Ctrl+S); those files stay in a folder on your PC and are never sent to us. No copy of the live video reaches us.
GOAT Cam adds no encryption of its own to the video. Over Wi-Fi, the protection of that video is whatever your own network provides, such as its Wi-Fi password, so use a network you trust. Once the video reaches your PC, the video app you select it in handles it under that app's own policy, not ours.
Your local network
To find your PC over Wi-Fi, the apps announce and look for a GOAT Cam service on your local network. iOS asks for your permission before the app may do this. A pairing code and an identifier for the PC are stored on your own devices — and may also be included in your device backups, if you make them. The Windows companion app writes diagnostic logs, and those stay on your PC.
Subscriptions
GOAT Cam Pro subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. On your device, Apple tells the app whether your subscription is currently active. We never see your card details or billing information, and we receive no report of who has subscribed. Apple's handling of the transaction is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
This website
This site sets no cookies of its own, runs no scripts and uses no analytics. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical request data such as your IP address in order to deliver and protect the site, and which may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it detects unusual traffic. If you email us
Mail sent to support@dagoat.io is forwarded to our inbox. We receive your email address, your message and anything you attach, and we use them only to answer you. We delete support mail within 12 months of your last message to us, or sooner if you ask.
Your choices
You can remove either app at any time; the pairing data stored on that device goes with it. To ask us to delete an email exchange, to see a copy of it, or to correct something in it, write to support@dagoat.io. To manage or cancel a subscription, open Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad.
Children
GOAT Cam is not directed at children under 13. The apps send us nothing about anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new effective date at the top.
